The Crime: Questioning the IRS
In her own words:

The Punishment: Death by Negligence
Despite the fact that Sherry was convicted of "willful failure to file" in 2007, before the official start of the IRS campaign called the "Tax Defier Initiative," her prosecution was a blueprint for that effort to stamp out opposition to the IRS and the income tax. Relying on overwhelmed jury members and a friendly judge, the federal prosecutors won their case, and Sherry was sentenced to four years in a Florida prison.
Earlier this year, Sherry discovered that she had Graves' Disease after a long administrative fight to obtain a diagnosis. She is continuing to fight for medical care while in prison and has, to this day, not obtained it. We are urging Americans of good conscience, regardless of their opinion concerning Sherry's incarceration, to demand from public officials and the prison staff that she be treated humanely and given proper medical care.
We may address the question of her imprisonment at a later time. Her need for treatment is urgent and she will face dire consequences if it is not provided. You can read more about her health issues on The Daily Paul.

1/8/10 Update I received this email from Sherry's husband...
She is being held in the SHU (Solitary Holding Unit) in FCI Tallahassee, FL. She is allowed one phone call per week, three showers per week and is confined to her quarters almost 24 hours per day. She has been moved only twice in the last year and a half. She was in Coleman for a little over a year, then to Bushnell, FL for four days (about three and a half weeks ago), and now Tallahassee, FL (since about three weeks ago). 12/17/09 Update I received this email from Sherry's husband...
Sherry was moved to a new facility on 12-16-09. Her spirit is strong but, I'm concerned about the kind of medical attention she may or may not get. I'm also concerned that our planned trip to see her this Christmas may be canceled. Her new address is:

They said that the reason they moved her was because they are investigating whether or not she contacted the media (which is supposedly a violation of the BOP). A magazine came to the prison with her picture on the cover and a copy of the letter she wrote to Congressman Hank Johnson. She DID NOT contact any media and a very small investigation would show that without her being moved.
I feel the need to ask you to please, when you are corresponding with the prison, our Congressman and others, to be very clear but cordial. I do understand the emotions that come when you learn of wrongdoings and how you want to express those emotions. But, when anger and vile is expressed in those letters and phone calls, it works against what we are trying to accomplish. I spoke with my Congressman's office and they are trying to work on Sherry's behalf, but it's very difficult for them sometimes when they are being screamed at and bombarded with negativity.
I pray and hope that you understand my position and that you will keep these things in mind as you continue to send letters and place phone calls for her freedom. I am forever indebted to all of you.

Dan has been informed by prison officials that he will be granted a phone conference with Sherry only after he has produced certified documents of his credentials from the FCC. Given this higher bar for talking with Mrs. Jackson, it is all the more important to bring media attention to this matter. All help is appreciated. - Ron Dickerhoof Jr.
12/05/09 Update I received this email from Sherry's husband...
Hello family and friends,
Sherry is doing much better. The swelling in her neck has gone down and the main challenge she has right now is the petty "drama" that goes on there.
I apologize for sending this form letter to everyone but, to my surprise, when I sent the letter out to update you on Sherry's health and solicit you prayers, I did NOT expect to receive 300 emails in two days. I am overwhelmed by your care and concern. But, at the same time, I'm overwhelmed with trying to answer each email. So, I am asking that you would give me a few days as I attempt to respond to each one of you as soon as I can.
Get Involved
We are in the process of gathering support from different groups who are also working on Sherry's behalf. We are planning campaigns for several types of media and a few days to target specific outlets as we work to get the story out. If you have ideas, we'd love to hear them.
